Job Summary
Perform a variety of nail services including manicures, pedicures, gel applications, and nail enhancements while maintaining workstation cleanliness and sanitation compliance. Provide excellent customer service by understanding client needs, communicating desired outcomes, and aftercare instructions, and upsell additional services or products to meet sales goals. Stay updated on the latest trends in nail care and techniques to provide clients with the best options available. Assist with body waxing services as needed and communicate inventory needs to the Director. Pay is $16/hour plus tips. Flexible and long hours are sometimes required. Bi-lingual ability is preferred.
Required Qualifications
- High School diploma or equivalent and/or 1-year experience in a spa or related field
- At least 1-year retail experience
- Bi-lingual
- Flexible and long hours
- Exerting up to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or 25 pounds of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects
- Effectively communicate both verbally and written, with all level of employees and guests in an attentive, friendly, courteous and service oriented manner
- Effective at listening to, understanding, and clarifying concerns raised by employees and guests
- Multitask and prioritize departmental functions to meet deadlines
- Approach all encounters with guests and employees in an attentive, friendly, courteous and service-oriented manner
- Attend all hotel required meetings and trainings
- Maintain regular attendance in compliance with Highgate Hotel Standards
- Maintain high standards of personal appearance and grooming, which includes wearing the proper uniform and nametag
- Comply with Highgate Hotel Standards and regulations to encourage safe and efficient hotel operations
- Maximize efforts towards productivity, identify problem areas and assist in implementing solutions
- Effective in handling problems, including anticipating, preventing, identifying and solving problems as necessary
- Understand and apply complex information, data, etc. from various sources to meet appropriate objectives
- Cross-train in other hotel related areas
- Maintain confidentiality of information
- Show initiative, including anticipating guest or operational needs
- Proficient in various nail care techniques and treatments
- Strong customer service skills with the ability to build rapport with clients
- Knowledge of sanitation practices and health regulations related to nail services
- Ability to upsell services and products effectively while maintaining a positive client relationship
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and non-verbal, to ensure clear understanding with clients
Desired Qualifications
- Experience in retail sales, particularly in beauty or personal care products
