Job Summary
The Lead Montessori Teacher for the Primary (3–6) classroom will create a prepared Montessori environment that supports the social, emotional, and academic development of children ages 3–6 while ensuring compliance with Maryland child care licensing standards. Key responsibilities include implementing an authentic Montessori curriculum, observing and assessing developmental progress, developing individualized learning plans, guiding children's behavior using Montessori principles, supervising assistant teachers, ensuring safety standards, and engaging with families about student progress. Candidates should have an Associate’s Degree in Early Childhood Education or a related field and meet Maryland Lead Teacher requirements.
Required Qualifications
- Associate’s Degree or higher in Early Childhood Education or related field
- Meets Maryland Lead Teacher qualification requirements
- Must pass background check and health clearance as required by Maryland licensing
Desired Qualifications
- Montessori Certification (AMI, AMS, or equivalent) preferred
- Minimum 1–2 years of classroom experience with children ages 3–6 preferred
- Current CPR/First Aid certification or willingness to obtain
