Job Summary
Lead Monitor I oversees security operations for shelter programs: assigns shifts, trains and mentors monitors, ensures safety practices, and leads shelter entrance monitoring, bag and person screening, and patrols. Responsibilities also include supervising client support activities, coordinating safety procedures, generating incident reports, and performing driving tasks for licensed monitors as needed. Requires ability to deliver safety training, supervise staff, and act as a role model while protecting participants, staff, and property. Driving responsibilities and mandated reporting duties are included.
Required Qualifications
- One year of proven college coursework, or completion of Careers for a Cause (C4C) or other homeless training course with a certificate can substitute for the experience requirement.
- Ability to pass fingerprint clearance and background check
- Experience in security or social services
- Valid California driver’s license preferred
