Job Summary

Lead physics-based mission simulations to inform system trade studies and verify performance for first-of-kind space vehicles and missions. Develop and present review packages to internal and external senior leadership while working proactively in a fast-paced, demanding atmosphere. Create mission flight plans and concepts exploring novel astrodynamics approaches, and maintain operational mission planning tools. Serve as a core point of contact for customers and lead integrated efforts to converge on achievable solutions that meet mission objectives.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering, Engineering Technology (including Manufacturing Technology), Computer Science, Data Science, Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry or non-US equivalent qualifications directly related to the work statement
  • Active U.S. Top Secret/SCI Security Clearance that has been active in the past 24 months
  • Proficiency with MATLAB, Python, or comparable software language
  • 7 years of systems engineering experience
  • 2 years of experience in a technical leadership position (Engineering Team Lead, IPT, Technical Project Manager, etc)
  • This position is expected to be 100% onsite
  • The selected candidate will be required to work onsite at one of the listed location options
  • U.S. export control compliance requirements
  • U.S. Person as defined by 22 C.F.R. §120.62 (U.S. Citizen, U.S. National, lawful permanent resident, refugee, or asylee)
  • U.S. Citizenship Required

Desired Qualifications

  • Strong technical background across all spacecraft subsystems with depth in Attitude Control Systems (ACS)/Guidance Navigation & Control (GNC), spacecraft operations, or mission modeling
  • Strong system background spanning both space and ground domains
  • Ability to dive into broad, minimally defined design spaces and effectively lead integrated efforts
  • Proficiency in Model Based Systems Engineering (MBSE)
  • Proficiency developing control algorithms, models, and simulations
  • Proficiency in space environments, mission design, or astrodynamics
  • Experience working with cross-functional teams and external customers
  • Experience in spacecraft, launch vehicles, or highly autonomous unmanned system
