Lead Methods and Process Engineer

Job Summary

Lead the development, implementation, and governance of manufacturing methods and process standards across circuit breaker and instrument transformer production. Own process documentation including Standard Work, flows, work instructions, and specifications while leading PFMEA, Control Plans, and process validation activities. Drive Lean Manufacturing initiatives such as Value Stream Mapping, Kaizen Events, 5S, and SMED to improve throughput, cycle time, and OEE. Design fixtures, tooling, and ergonomic solutions; support strategic capital projects, line balancing, and facility layout optimization through 2D Simulation. Lead cross-functional problem-solving using A3, DMAIC, and 8D methodologies to drive root cause analysis and operational excellence. Mentor manufacturing engineers and ensure consistency across production lines while monitoring process capability and productivity via data analytics.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Industrial Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or a related engineering discipline
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in manufacturing engineering, industrial engineering, methods engineering, or process engineering within a manufacturing environment
  • Demonstrated experience leading manufacturing process improvement initiatives and cross-functional technical projects
  • Experience with Lean Manufacturing implementation and structured problem-solving methodologies
  • Strong leadership, communication, and influencing skills with the ability to lead cross-functional teams without direct authority
  • Proven experience developing manufacturing methods, process standards, and production systems
  • Advanced knowledge of Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, Industrial Engineering, and Operational Excellence principles
  • Experience leading PFMEA, Control Plans, Standard Work, and process validation activities
  • Strong understanding of manufacturing fixtures, tooling design, ergonomics, and process optimization
  • Strong analytical skills using Power BI, Minitab, Excel, or other manufacturing analytics tools
  • Hands-on leadership style with a strong Gemba presence
  • Experience leading Kaizen Events, Value Stream Mapping workshops, and operational excellence programs

Desired Qualifications

  • Experience with SAP or other ERP systems
  • Experience using CAD software such as SolidWorks or AutoCAD
