Required Qualifications

• •A completed Bachelor's degree or High School diploma
• •Experience providing milieu support to youths
• •Peer certified and/or recovery coach staff
• •Must have a valid driver's license
• •Reliable transportation that meets CFS Driver Policy
• •Must be able to work beyond a forty-hour work week
• •Must be able to remain on shift or work an additional shift until relief staff are available
• •Must be able to stay awake for the entirety of their shift (overnight positions)
• •Must complete the program's de-escalation and physical management certification training
• •Must be able to report to work as scheduled, regardless of holidays and/or during any emergency situation and/or agency closing
• •Must be able to move readily from task to task as well as move quickly in responding to emergencies
• •Must possess excellent communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills
• •Must be able to work within a culturally diverse and inclusive environment
• •Must demonstrate skills for communication and interaction across cultures, including the ability to recognize and manage personal behaviors, moods, and impulses to create an inclusive, equitable, and welcoming climate within the agency
• •Must be able to utilize verbal de-escalation skills, planned ignoring and redirection to encourage youth to utilize self-soothing skills and increase ability to self-regulate
• •Must be able to utilize physical intervention as a last resort and within the agency guidelines
• •Must be able to physically manage youths, if necessary, using methods and techniques approved and certified through the YCCS Program
• •Must be able to work effectively and professionally with youths and collaterals, such as family members, state agency personnel, other agencies, and professionals
• •Must be able to perform basic household duties and meal preparation
• •Must be able to work collaboratively within Acute Care Services staff to cross train and provide coverage as needed
• •Must maintain regular and timely attendance, including mandatory monthly staff meetings and trainings
• •Must be able to cross-train in the policies, procedures and working with adults on ACCS to assist as needed with programmatic needs
• •Must be able to delegate shift tasks and duties
• •Must be able to assure that shift duties are complete
• •Must be able to oversee Mental Health Counselors on shift including coaching on performance
• •Must be able to participate in Clinical Team Meetings/Rounds
• •Must be able to participate in Lead Mental Health Counselor meetings

• •Must be able to delegate duties and tasks related to the supervision of clients
• •Must be able to coordinate and execute their treatment plans
• •Must be able to assist in crisis stabilization
• •Must be able to assist in the development of treatment planning that specifies goals and actions to address the medical, social, therapeutic, educational, and other strengths and needs of youth
• •Must be able to participate in the development and implementation of behavioral plans and crisis/safety plans
• •Must be able to assist in facilitating youth admissions and discharges
• •Must be able to facilitate/co-facilitate recreational groups and wellness activities including physical exercise, nutrition, yoga, meditation, and mindfulness
• •Must be able to provide opportunities for and supervision as appropriate for phone/virtual interaction between youth, guardians, and approved contacts while youth is at the program
• •Must be able to perform 15 min checks of youth while in their bedrooms during waking hours
• •Must be able to perform 30 min checks of all youth during sleeping hours
• •Must be able to utilize Massachusetts Behavioral Health Access (MABHA) website to update daily capacity as instructed
• •Must be able to use website to locate other services for youth in assisting with aftercare planning and referrals
• •Must be able to interact therapeutically with youth and maintain visual supervision/monitoring of youth as indicated
• •Must be able to promote high staff morale and team atmosphere within department
• •Must be able to cross-train in the policies, procedures and working with adults on ACCS to assist as needed with programmatic needs
