Job Summary
Lead Medical Technologist - Blood Bank oversees a single-work unit in the pathology laboratory, ensuring day-to-day operations, compliance with policies, training of staff, and performance appraisals. Responsible for performing routine and complex analyses, applying theory and instrumentation knowledge, recognizing problems, and initiating corrective actions to ensure patient safety and accuracy. Plans workflow to maximize productivity while maintaining quality, safety, and regulatory standards, supports regulatory/accreditation compliance, mentors team members and students, participates in interviews and performance evaluations, and contributes to education and quality/safety programs. Requires Associate's degree in a related field, minimum two years of related experience, and strong communication skills; ASCP-MT/MLT credentials are preferred.
