Job Summary
Lead all aspects of operation in assigned laboratory sections, including preparation and maintenance of records, reports, policies, and procedures. Conduct analysis of testing methodologies, oversee employee training and staffing, and manage technical oversight and compliance. Collaborate with team members to coordinate tasks, priorities, and goals while assisting with test validations, regulatory compliance, and quality control. Perform a variety of laboratory tests and procedures to assist physicians in diagnosing, monitoring, treating, and preventing disease. Requires 3 years of hospital experience, a Bachelor's degree in clinical laboratory science, and ASCP/AMT/AAB certification. Schedule is Friday through Sunday, 7 p.m. to 7:30 a.m.
Required Qualifications
- H.S. Diploma or General Education Degree (GED)
- 3 years of hospital experience
- Certification as a medical technologist or medical laboratory scientist by the American Society of Clinical Pathologists (ASCP), AMT (American Medical Technologists) or AAB (American Association of Bioanalysts) according to the qualifications through the State of Georgia Department of Community Health, Healthcare Facility, Clinical Laboratory regulations
- AAB provisional certification not accepted
Desired Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in clinical laboratory science, biomedical science, medical technology or in a life / biological science (biology, biochemistry, microbiology, etc.)
- Previous lead or supervisory experience
