Job Summary
Lead Medical Assistant role supporting clinical operations in a physician-led network. Responsible for onboarding and training staff, directing patient, staff, and provider interactions, rooming patients, obtaining vital signs and histories, collecting lab specimens, administering medications and vaccines, and authorizing prescription refills as directed. Collaborates with Practice Manager on staffing and patient flow; participates in patient care activities, scheduling, and follow-up in accordance with policies. Mentors and develops staff, conducts clinical meetings/huddles, and supports infection control, CLIA waived testing, vaccine storage/handling, and safety requirements. Demonstrates kindness and compassion in patient interactions, contributes to brand marketing efforts to engage patients, and supports change management across the clinic.
Required Qualifications
- Current unencumbered license as an LVN/LPN or current certification as an MA
- BLS certification preferred; required within 90 days of employment
- High School Diploma/Equivalency required
- 3-5 years minimum clinical experience in primary care or similar practice setting with phlebotomy, lab processing and handling, CLIA waived testing compliance, and vaccine storage, handling, and administration experience
- Experience in primary care, family practice, internal medicine, urgent care or ER preferred
