Job Summary
Lead Medical Assistant acts as the resource person and liaison between management and staff, oversees MA duties, assists with scheduling and evaluations, precepts new employees, and trains staff on workflows and technologies (e.g., Glooko; CGMs; autoclave and sonic). Leads monthly meetings, reviews new workflows, and escalates issues to nursing supervisor. Requires strong communication, organization, and clinical skills; supports daily sick-call management and participates in ongoing professional development to support policy and workflow changes.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum 1-2 years as a Medical Assistant
- BLS (Basic Life Support) Certification
- Knowledge of examination, diagnostic and treatment room procedures
- Knowledge of safety hazards and safe work environment practices
- Excellent keyboard and computer skills including electronic medical records (EMR) and registration/billing systems
- Excellent organizational skills
- Ability to lead and take direction
- Ability to communicate clearly
- Ability to react calmly and effectively in emergency situations
- Ability to read, understand and respond to detailed oral and written instructions
