Job Summary
Lead Med Tech responsible for the daily operation of an assigned laboratory section at Johns Hopkins Hospital. Oversees section workload and personnel scheduling, inventory maintenance, and adherence to the divisional quality assurance program. Supports laboratory projects and assists in training new employees, and in developing/revising laboratory policies and procedures. Maintains advanced knowledge of laboratory equipment and laboratory information systems; demonstrates problem solving and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a complex hospital environment to support patient care. Requires a Bachelor's degree in a relevant field, MT (ASCP) certification, and 5+ years of clinical lab experience with leadership responsibilities; preferably 2+ years in a specialty area. Works full time on-site in Baltimore, MD, with weekend rotations; salary commensurate with experience.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent in Medical Technology, Medical and Research Technology, Microbiology, Clinical Laboratory Science, or a closely related field
- Certification in Medical Technology, MT (ASCP) or equivalent
- 5+ years of clinical laboratory experience with 2+ years in specialty/related field
- Ability to juggle multiple priorities and coordinate with laboratory staff
