Job Summary
The Lead Medication Assistant organizes and assigns tasks to resident assistants, ensuring responsible care for adult and geriatric residents while performing various healthcare duties such as administering medications and documenting outcomes. This role plays a key part in the resident admission process and in training new staff.
Required Qualifications
- High school graduate or general equivalency diploma (GED) preferred
- Minimum age of 18 preferred
- Six months experience as a Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA)
- Maintains a record of continuing education credits
- Valid driver's license and auto insurance may be needed
- CNA certification with the State Board of Nursing for Iowa, North Dakota, etc.
Additional Requirements
- Must have state-required certified/trained medication aide certification (CMA or TMA)
- Active certified nursing assistant registration in state of practice, or obtain within 120 days
