Job Summary
Lead the mechanical engineering scopes on projects from concept through detailed design, developing complex mechanical and piping design solutions and associated deliverables. Review mechanical and piping design calculations, technical specifications, and datasheets while managing vendor packages and integrating data into engineering designs. Manage the budget and schedule for the mechanical engineering and drafting scope, coach junior engineers on technical aspects, and support continuous improvement of engineering standards and processes. This role reports directly to the Mechanical Team Lead within the Minerals Processing Brownfields team in Adelaide.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor of Engineering (Mechanical)
- Minimum 10 years' experience in a design/consultancy environment within Resources or Energy & Chemicals Industry
- Sound understanding of mechanical engineering principles and practices
- Demonstrated experience working on multi-discipline projects and leading the mechanical scope
- Sound understanding of project management principles and controls
- Ability to lead a small team
- Ability to work and make decisions independently
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
