Job Summary
Lead Mechanical Engineer to drive design and development of e-beam systems; responsibilities include mentoring the mechanical engineering team, leading CAD modeling and design reviews, conducting tolerance and structural analyses, and collaborating with electrical, manufacturing, and operations teams to ensure successful integration, manufacturing scalability, and continuous improvement. The role emphasizes setting engineering standards, developing SOPs and controlled documentation, overseeing product development from concept through production, and contributing to process improvements, reliability, and cost efficiency while maintaining proactive problem-solving and hands-on engineering execution.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering or a related discipline
- 8+ years of progressive mechanical engineering experience
- Prior experience leading engineering projects, mentoring engineers, or serving in a technical lead capacity
- Proficiency with CAD tools; Autodesk Inventor experience is a plus
- Strong understanding of manufacturing processes, fabrication methods, assembly techniques, and design for manufacturability (DFM)
- Experience with high-voltage systems and related safety considerations
- Experience developing engineering processes, SOPs, controlled documentation systems, and revision control practices
- Experience supporting products from concept through production
- Strong communication, collaboration, and mentoring skills
- Ability to balance leadership responsibilities with hands-on engineering execution
