Job Summary
Lead Mechanical Engineer responsible for developing mechanical specifications and design philosophies for global execution, ensuring compliance with regulatory expectations and owner requirements. Role emphasizes cold-weather design considerations (winterization, insulation, freeze protection), contractor management, interface with process, civil, electrical, and O&M disciplines, and delivering cost-optimized engineering solutions suitable for local boundary conditions. Requires leadership in design-to-construct decisions, strong communication to executives and EPC contractors, and alignment with permitting and stakeholding needs across energy/industrial facilities, with relocation to Switzerland and potential travel to Canada (Alberta) for project work. Fluency in English and willingness to travel up to 60% with visa sponsorship and relocation support provided.
Required Qualifications
- Degree in Mechanical Engineering
- At least 10 years of experience in process plants
- Experience with API and ASME equipment (heat exchangers, columns, pressure vessels, tanks)
- Demonstrated hands-on experience with cold-weather industrial plant design and winterization
- Project experience in chemical, petrochemical, or renewables with FEED to start-up
- Willingness to travel up to 60% and relocate to Switzerland
- Fluency in English
