Job Summary
Oversee contracted janitorial, maintenance, security, and pest control vendors to ensure safe, efficient operations across NYCEDC's public markets. Supervise mechanics and field staff for daily cleaning, minor repairs, trash collection, and special event setups while coordinating with contractors for building system maintenance. Manage cleaning supply inventories, conduct weekly site inspections, and respond to facility emergencies including snow and ice events. Maintain Safety Data Sheets and coordinate with vendors to keep facilities compliant and operational. Requires 24/7 on-call availability, weekend and night shifts, and NYC residence.
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- 4+ years of related experience in maintenance and upkeep of commercial and/or residential properties
- Demonstrated knowledge of building systems, fire and building codes, refrigeration systems, and snow removal procedures
- Valid driver's license
- 24 hour on-call response
- New York City residence within 180 days of hire
- OSHA 10 or OSHA 30 preferred; candidates must be willing and able to obtain OSHA certification within 90 days of hire
