Job Summary
Lead Mechanic serves as the Supervisor of the department, overseeing subordinates and coordinating with Maintenance Manager on repairs. Responsibilities include diagnosing malfunctions using voltmeters, operating and verifying repaired machinery, disassembling/reassembling equipment, maintaining and repairing industrial production machinery, examining parts for wear, cleaning, lubricating, and adjusting components, analyzing test results and machine error messages, documenting repairs, ordering parts, and performing other related duties. Education requirement: High School Diploma or equivalent; 5+ years of related experience preferred; basic computer skills (Excel/Word) preferred; mechanic certifications preferred (diesel engines, hydraulic systems, brake systems); ability to read schematics; some travel; strong problem solving, independent and team work, confidentiality, and English proficiency; physical requirements include lifting up to 50 pounds and varied activity; may require minimum 40 hours per week. This role is based in Eighty Four, PA, with in-person remote option.
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma or equivalent required
- 5 year minimum work-related skill, knowledge, or experience preferred or equivalent training
- Basic computer skills, Excel and Word preferred
- Mechanic Certifications preferred (ex. Diesel engines, hydraulic systems, brake systems)
- Must be able to read schematics for heavy equipment repair
- Some travel may be required
- Problem solving skills required
- Must work independently and as a member of team
- Sensitive to confidential information
- Able to read, speak and write English
- Ability to use computer software programs to achieve job functions
- Strong physical and mental health to maintain demanding workload
- Performing physical activities that require considerable use of your arms and legs and moving your whole body
- Able to work under stressful conditions at times
- Climbing - able to go up and down stairs
