Job Summary
Oversee complex vehicle diagnostics, repairs, and road tests while maintaining advanced knowledge of engines, emissions, transmissions, brakes, hydraulics, electrical, and HVAC systems. Supervise shop technicians, conduct daily huddles, training, and performance evaluations, and manage inventory control and expense approvals. Schedule fleet maintenance, ensure compliance with federal and state safety standards, and work closely with management on budgets and special projects. Participate in the ASE certification program and perform hands-on work activities as needed. This role supports the comprehensive preventive maintenance program for over 540 locations, ensuring safe transportation for millions of students daily.
Required Qualifications
- At least 5 years of diesel or automotive maintenance & repair experience or technical school education
- Valid driver's license
- Willingness to obtain CDL while employed
- Strong computer skills
- Possess a mechanic's tool set
Desired Qualifications
- Previous experience in a lead technician, supervisor, or other management role
- ASE certifications
