Lead, Meat

Lead Meat Cutter position responsible for cutting all types of meats into specified cuts and preparing products per company standards. Duties include cutting and weighing steaks and chops, producing value-added products, trimming and boning carcass sections, grinding and preparing sausages, weighing and packaging meat, pricing and dating products, restocking and merchandising shelves, and notifying management when supplies need reordered. Requires familiarity with products, ability to read and interpret documents, basic math, and strong customer service through suggestive selling. Adheres to PPE, safety and food-safety guidelines; may assist in other departments as needed. Physical demands include lifting up to 50 pounds and standing/walking for extended periods. High school diploma or GED preferred; 1 year retail or related experience preferred; meat cutter/apprentice experience strongly preferred. Travel varies by assignment.
