Job Summary
Lead Math Tutor to mentor a team of tutors while delivering high-quality, 1:1 and small-group math instruction for K–8 students. You’ll model best practices, lead training/check-ins, observe tutoring sessions with constructive feedback, and collaborate with program staff to monitor student progress and address learning challenges. The role emphasizes leadership in tutoring settings, guiding teammates, and fostering a positive, student-centered culture with a strong focus on math proficiency and effective communication.
Required Qualifications
- Strong math proficiency
- High school diploma or equivalent (degree in education, math, or related field preferred)
- Experience tutoring/math with K–8 students
- Prior leadership or mentoring experience
- Excellent communication skills
- Patience and empathy
- Ability to adapt instruction to diverse learning styles and levels
- Strong organizational and time-management skills
- Ability to lead team check-ins and share best practices
- Dependable and professional
- Weekend availability preferred
- Availability to work 4-6 hours per day, three times per week
