Job Summary

Weigh, measure, and check raw materials using computer interfaces to assure accurate batch quantities. Calibrate and operate manual, semi-automated, and automated manufacturing equipment including mixers, mills, blenders, pumps, and filtration systems. Identify and conduct equipment troubleshooting for common failure modes while following safe practices and standard operating procedures in controlled environments up to and including classified clean rooms. Participate in Safety, Quality, and Productivity discussions and assist in ownership of project action tasks. Solve problems applying departmental knowledge and complete complex tasks related to the manufacturing of cell culture media. Maintain compliance with Quality Management Systems and regulatory requirements as a Subject Matter Expert for documentation and practices within the department.

Required Qualifications

  • Able to lift 40 lbs. without assistance
  • Adherence to all Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) Safety Standards
  • Cleanroom: no hair products, jewelry, makeup, nail polish, perfume, exposed piercings, facial hair etc... allowed
  • Some degree of PPE (Personal Protective Equipment) required (safety glasses, gowning, gloves, lab coat, ear plugs etc.)
  • Will work with hazardous/toxic materials
  • Working at heights
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • 3+ years of experience in a Good Manufacturing Practice environment, manufacturing or related field
  • General understanding of technical, mechanical, and machinery equipment
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong attention to detail for complex instructions and documentation while maintaining quality output
  • Demonstrated proficiency in completing and training others in multiple processes in a fast-paced work environment
  • Ability to push, pull, lift, and move up to 50 pounds
  • Ability to squat, bend, and reach different items to complete assigned tasks
  • Ability to wear all Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), including work uniform, steel toe shoes, hair net, beard guard (when required), safety glasses, and gloves
  • PPE may also include a bump cap, face shield, and full/half-face respirators
  • Availability to work overtime and flexible shift patterns
  • Must be able to effectively lead and coach others

Desired Qualifications

  • Formal training in Lean, 5S, or manufacturing processes
  • 4+ years of experience in a fast-paced work environment
