Lead Manufacturing Engineer - Operations Lead

Job Summary

Monitor shop operations, status WIP hardware, and manage vendor flow including shipping, documentation, and purchase orders. Lead LEAN implementation by developing standard work, driving 5S improvements, and creating process documentation. Support troubleshooting and resolve manufacturing process issues while maintaining a robust schedule to manage shop bandwidth. Interface with engineering, quality, inspection, and external customers to communicate hardware status and shop needs. Requires Bachelor's degree, three years manufacturing experience, and knowledge of tooling, fixturing, and process engineering.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited university or college
  • High school diploma / GED with at least 4 years of experience in manufacturing
  • Minimum 3 additional years Manufacturing experience
  • Experience with machining, assembly, machine repair or inspection
  • Ability to work with minimal supervision and direction
  • Self-starter
  • Ability to interface with various levels of management and shop floor workforce
  • Ability to receive guidance and supervision
  • Follow work rules, safety practices, work procedures

Desired Qualifications

  • Experience with LEAN / Six Sigma and 5S principles
  • Experience with shop operations, particularly hardware management, scheduling, quoting, and finance
  • Knowledge of tooling, fixturing and process engineering
  • Experience with CAM/CAD, particularly Unigraphics NX
