Job Summary

Lead technical support for cleaning, stripping, and surface prep processes in the Greenville Power Nozzle Repair Cell, specifically managing Hydrogen Fluoride Cleaning operations. Identify and lead global projects to improve HF cleaning efficiency while developing and industrializing surface prep technology for the services network. Coach cell support staff, maintain process documentation, and create work instructions to ensure consistent quality and operator training. Coordinate with sourcing, services, and engineering teams to support service programs, NPI, and capital investments, driving improvements in equipment reliability, process controls, and LEAN activities. Communicate progress across all organizational levels. Requires a U.S. work authorization and access to export-controlled technology.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor of Science in Engineering, Chemistry, Mathematics, or Physics
  • At least 2 additional years of experience related to chemical surface prep technologies of high temperature metals and superalloys or thermal barrier coating technology
  • Experience working in a development and manufacturing environment
  • This role is restricted to U.S. persons (i.e., U.S. citizens, permanent residents, and other protected individuals under the Immigration and Naturalization Act, 8 U.S.C. 1324b(a)(3)) due to access to export-controlled technology
  • GE will require proof of status prior to employment
  • Any offer of employment is conditioned upon the successful completion of a drug screen (as applicable)

Desired Qualifications

  • Degree in Chemical or Mechanical Engineering
  • Experience in Fluoride Ion Cleaning (FIC)
  • Prior experience in Heat Treat processes for superalloys
  • Master of Science or greater in the field of Chemistry
  • Sound chemistry and materials practical application background
  • Additional experience in manufacture or component repair for industrial gas turbines
  • Six Sigma Green Belt or Black Belt certification
  • Familiarity with manufacturing processes
  • Demonstrated ability to drive projects to completion
  • Strong oral and written communication skills
  • Strong interpersonal and leadership skills
