Job Summary
Operate mammography equipment to produce radiographs, select technical factors, and position patients while providing radiation protection. Evaluate image quality, explain difficult techniques to staff, and maintain quality control and regulatory compliance. Coordinate purchasing, staff assignments, and Breast Cancer month activities; assist the radiologist and manage patient flow. Participate in on-call assignments and work schedule changes as needed.
Required Qualifications
- All required vaccinations
- E-Verify participation and Right to Work notice acknowledgment
- BLS Certification following American Heart Association guidelines
- CRT certification
- AART certification
- Mammography Certification
- Registration with the State of California
- State of California Fluoroscopy Permit
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
- Ability to organize and maintain good follow-up
- Good communication skills
- Demonstration of a pull lift of 50 pounds from the floor
- Knowledge and skills necessary to provide care appropriate to the age of patients served
- Ability to assess data reflective of patients' status and interpret relative to age-specific needs
- Adherence to the Corporate Compliance Code of Conduct
- Technical competence to perform all department functions; clerical through technical
- Technical competence to perform in a multi-modality department
- Ability to maintain mammography services in accordance with standards established by the hospital and with state, local and federal standards
- Ability to maintain patient flow and coordination of other imaging procedures
- Ability to maintain quality control for designated area
- Ability to perform proper computer skills and show working knowledge of patient orders, status changes, patient charges, profiles and ability to transmit electronic medical record
- Ability to plan and evaluate staffing for the area and be aware of budget parameters
- Ability to practice sterile technique and know and use universal precautions
- Ability to produce images under difficult or special conditions
- Ability to provide radiation protection for self and patient
- Ability to recommend equipment modifications, new equipment and essential construction within the area
- Ability to be responsible for delegated areas of authority in the performance of routine or special procedures
- Ability to transport and position patients
- Willingness to perform other duties and innovations as assigned
- Willingness to participate in On-Call assignments and work schedule changes when necessary or per the needs of the department
