Lead Mammography Technologist, Full Time, Day Shift

Job Summary

Operate imaging equipment to produce radiographs of designated body areas, selecting proper technical factors for individual patients. Evaluate image accuracy and technical quality, then explain difficult or new techniques to staff while maintaining mammography services under state and federal standards. Coordinate area purchasing, stock levels, and breast cancer month activities; plan staffing and evaluate budget parameters. Assist radiologists with procedures, transport and position patients, and maintain quality control and patient flow. Participate in on-call assignments and work schedule changes as needed.

Required Qualifications

  • All required vaccinations as a condition of employment
  • E-Verify participation acknowledgment
  • BLS Certification following American Heart Association guidelines
  • CRT certification
  • AART certification
  • Mammography Certification
  • Registration with the State of California
  • State of California Fluoroscopy Permit
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
  • Ability to organize and maintain good follow-up
  • Good communication skills
  • Demonstration of a pull lift of 50 pounds from the floor
  • Conformance with all HIPAA and other confidentiality regulations
  • Adherence to the Corporate Compliance Code of Conduct
  • Knowledge and skills necessary to provide care appropriate to the age of patients served (Child, Adolescent, Adult Geriatric)
  • Ability to assess data reflective of patients' status and interpret relative to age-specific needs
  • Technical competence to perform all department functions; clerical through technical
  • Technical competence to perform in a multi-modality department
  • Ability to maintain mammography services in accordance with standards established by the hospital and with state, local and federal standards
  • Ability to maintain adequate records
  • Ability to maintain and meet expectations on time for all competencies, license, certifications and education requirements
  • Ability to operate imaging equipment to produce radiographs of designated areas of the body
  • Ability to select proper technical factors on an individual basis
  • Ability to provide radiation protection for self and patient
  • Ability to practice sterile technique and know and use universal precautions
  • Ability to produce images under difficult or special conditions
  • Ability to transport and position patients
  • Willingness to perform other duties and innovations as assigned

Desired Qualifications

  • State of California Fluoroscopy Permit (preferred)
