Job Summary
Operate imaging equipment to produce radiographs, select proper technical factors, and transport and position patients. Evaluate image quality, explain difficult techniques to staff, and maintain quality control for designated areas. Coordinate area purchasing, stock levels, and breast cancer month activities while planning and evaluating staffing against budget parameters. Assist Radiologist with imaging procedures, maintain mammography services per hospital and regulatory standards, and participate in on-call assignments and schedule changes. Maintain adequate records, practice sterile technique, and provide radiation protection for self and patient.
Required Qualifications
- All required vaccinations
- E-Verify participation
- BLS Certification following American Heart Association guidelines
- CRT certification
- AART certification
- Mammography Certification
- Registration with the State of California
- State of California Fluoroscopy Permit
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
- Ability to organize and maintain good follow-up
- Good communication skills
- Demonstration of a pull lift of 50 pounds from the floor
- Conformance with all HIPAA and other confidentiality regulations
- Adherence to the Corporate Compliance Code of Conduct
- Knowledge and skills necessary to provide care appropriate to the age of patients served
- Ability to assess data reflective of patients' status and interpret relative to age-specific needs
- Technical competence to perform all department functions
- Technical competence to perform in a multi-modality department
- Working knowledge of patient orders, status changes, patient charges, profiles and ability to transmit electronic medical record
- Knowledge of PACS and mammography reporting system
- Ability to produce radiographs of designated areas of the body
- Ability to select proper technical factors on an individual basis
- Ability to operate imaging equipment
- Ability to transport and position patients
- Ability to provide radiation protection for self and patient
- Ability to practice sterile technique and use universal precautions
- Ability to maintain mammography services in accordance with standards established by the hospital and with state, local and federal standards
- Ability to maintain quality control for designated area
- Ability to participate in On-Call assignments and work schedule changes when necessary
