Job Summary
Perform medically prescribed diagnostic mammographic and bone density procedures while monitoring staff work and facilitating patient flow through the Breast Imaging Center. Independently implement patient procedures using departmental protocols, explain equipment usage, and solve examination problems to maximize diagnostic information. Demonstrate skill in equipment setup, maintenance, and quality control checks, ensuring all actions conform to established radiologic procedures and HIPAA regulations. Access patient information from HIS/RIS systems to schedule exams and verify orders, conferring with medical staff for clarification when necessary.
Required Qualifications
- Certificate from an accredited School of Radiologic Technology
- New York State license to practice Diagnostic Radiology
- Certified by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT)
- Advance Certification in Mammography
- Five years experience in radiology
- Good communication and interpersonal skills
- Qualified candidates must be able to effectively communicate with all levels of the organization
