Job Summary

Lead maintenance operations by performing repairs on apartment interiors and exteriors, troubleshooting HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and appliance issues, and completing preventative maintenance inspections. Conduct community walks and inspections to uphold brand standards, manage maintenance budgets and supply orders, and execute the make-ready process for vacant units. Serve as a mentor to onsite teams, respond to resident service requests with urgency, and handle after-hours emergency calls on a rotational basis. This role requires local and multi-state travel throughout the DMV area, reliable transportation, and physical ability to climb ladders and lift 60 lbs. You will report under the Senior Director, Central Business Office, supporting KETTLER's portfolio of multifamily developments in the Mid-Atlantic and Southeastern regions.

Required Qualifications

  • 3+ years of experience in the maintenance field
  • Must have reliable transportation and a valid driver's license
  • Universal EPA/CFC Certification
  • Proficiency in appliance, electrical and plumbing repair
  • Strong understanding and experience with HVAC repair
  • Excellent English communication skills, both verbal and written
  • Must be responsible for taking calls for after hour's emergency maintenance, including nights and weekends on a rotational basis
  • Must have personal/reliable transportation to get to work in order to respond to on-call emergencies as they occur
  • Willingness to travel between sites throughout the DMV area and regionally
  • Ability to walk the grounds and apartments, ascend stairs around the property, lift 60 lbs., climb ladders over 10 feet, and perform other general physical activities
  • Working knowledge of applicable Landlord Tenant Laws, Fair Housing mandates and other legal issues affecting property management

  • Must be able to quickly adapt, assess needs, provide multi-site leadership, demonstrate excellent customer service, and assist in maintaining all aspects of community curb appeal, preventative maintenance, resident and common area service requests, and physical site operations
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English and ability to interact with residents and internal and external customers in a positive, professional manner
