Job Summary
Perform hands-on maintenance duties including troubleshooting, diagnosing, and repairing HVAC systems, appliances, electrical and plumbing components, and building elements. Complete resident work orders in a timely, courteous manner while participating in the on-call emergency maintenance rotation and ensuring proper response protocols. Assist in maintaining curb appeal through exterior and grounds upkeep, support property readiness via turnovers and inspections, and help implement preventive maintenance schedules to extend equipment life. Oversee a team of 2-3 Maintenance Technicians by sharing workload and providing informal guidance, troubleshooting tips, and onboarding support. Maintain accurate logs and inventories of tools, parts, and activities while adhering to safety procedures, OSHA standards, and Fair Housing regulations. Coordinate with the Community Manager or Director of Maintenance Operations on vendor oversight and supply needs as requested.
Required Qualifications
- A valid driver's license and reliable transportation
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Basic understanding of electrical, hydraulic, and other systems
- Knowledge of general maintenance processes and methods
- Working knowledge of tools, common appliances, and devices
- Basic computer proficiency
Desired Qualifications
- 5+ years of experience in multifamily or similar maintenance environment
- EPA Universal or Type II Certification
- CPO (Certified Pool Operator) certification, or willingness to obtain
- Ability to mentor and lead by example, with strong communication and troubleshooting skills
- Proficiency with hand and power tools; capable of lifting 50+ lbs., working on ladders, and in varying conditions
- Organized, self-motivated, and solution oriented
