Lead Maintenance Technician – Conveyor Systems (HYSC) | Hayward

Lead day-to-day maintenance activities for conveyor and material handling systems to keep operations running safely with minimal downtime. Serve as the shift technical lead during breakdowns, assigning work, directing troubleshooting efforts, and supporting rapid recovery of conveyor and sortation equipment. Troubleshoot and repair mechanical, electrical, controls, and pneumatic failures; perform preventive and corrective maintenance tasks on time and to standard. Diagnose issues using schematics, meters, and PLC/HMI interfaces; lead root-cause analysis on repeat failures to eliminate chronic issues. Mentor technicians on safe work practices, PM procedures, and repair standards while inspecting machinery daily for wear and unsafe conditions. Rebuild, align, and replace equipment components; perform light fabrication and welding as needed. Maintain accurate maintenance records, manage spare parts inventory, and coordinate with Operations to prioritize work based on safety and operational impact. Respond after hours to support material handling systems and restore equipment to operating condition.
