Job Summary
Lead Maintenance Technician role supports the Chief Engineer in installing, maintaining and repairing industrial laundry equipment and systems. It is hands-on, performing preventive maintenance, troubleshooting across electrical, mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and steam systems, and providing day-to-day guidance to maintenance technicians. The role uses CMMS to document activities, coordinates with production leadership on start-up/shutdown, assists in onboarding and training, reads blueprints and electrical schematics, and ensures safety procedures including lockout/tagout. It also involves identifying process improvements, maintaining maintenance records, and occasional after-hours work or local travel. This developmental position aims to build technical and operational readiness for advancement without formal supervisory authority, and it is safety-sensitive.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum of 3 years of maintenance experience in an industrial environment
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred
- Applicable certifications (e.g., boiler, electrical) may be required based on local regulations or facility needs
- Strong working knowledge of mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and steam systems
- Troubleshooting ability in low and higher voltage power systems (up to 480V)
- Experience with preventative maintenance programs and maintenance documentation systems
- Familiarity with PLC systems
- Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics, blueprints, and technical manuals
- Strong communication skills in English
- Ability to provide guidance, training support, and technical assistance to other technicians
- Ability to coordinate work with production and engineering teams
- Understanding of lockout/tagout (LOTO) procedures and safety practices
- Proficient and safe use of hand and power tools with PPE
- Valid driver’s license with acceptable driving record
- Ability to travel for parts procurement or training
