Job Summary
Perform light maintenance repair, cleaning, and inspections on building systems, equipment, and grounds while adhering to safety protocols and federal codes. Evaluate repairs, direct and supervise other mechanics, and assist management with hiring, disciplinary actions, and department operations. Troubleshoot conditions using technical manuals, blueprints, and schematics to ensure work orders follow acceptable engineering practices. Manage preventive maintenance, parts procurement, and inventory while maintaining a safe environment for residents. Work independently across varied shifts with potential on-call duties.
Required Qualifications
- Ability to work all shifts and hours as scheduled
- Must be able to direct and supervise other maintenance mechanics
- Must possess the skills necessary to perform evaluations of all types of building and equipment repairs
- Must possess basic mechanical knowledge
- Must show competence in the use of hand tools, meters, measuring devices and gauges
- Ability to work from blueprints, schematics and technical manuals
- Good written and oral communications skills
- Must be able to explain conditions and situations accurately while troubleshooting
- Must have knowledge of federal, state, and local codes, specifications, and ordinances
- Must comply with all corporate and facility policies and dress code
- Must maintain a good driving record
- Must pass a drug screen
- Must pass a pre-employment background screening
Desired Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Trade school or vocational school
- Five years of experience in building systems
- Valid driver's license
