Job Summary
Lead Mainframe Engineer responsible for designing, deploying, and supporting applications, programs, and software solutions on mainframe platforms. Work with Business System Analysts to ensure designs satisfy functional requirements and partner with Infrastructure to deploy hosting environments. Tune application performance, research technical solutions, and align risk/control processes to monitor and mitigate risk. Apply various software development methodologies, contribute to component design, and support development, testing, troubleshooting, and production support. Extensive COBOL/JCL/Mainframe skills (DB2, MQ, CICS) with XML/ISO20022 and Oracle familiarity; 5+ years of experience; Bachelor’s degree preferred. Position involves collaboration across onshore/offshore teams and a hybrid onsite/remote work arrangement.
Required Qualifications
- 5+ years of related experience
- Bachelor's degree preferred and/or equivalent experience
- 5+ years of experience in COBOL, JCL and related MF technologies
- Excellent knowledge in COBOL and JCL
- Excellent Mainframe skills
- Excellent DB2 knowledge
- Good knowledge of MQ
- Good knowledge of CICS
- Working knowledge of XML and ISO20022 is a plus
- Strong analytical and interpersonal skills
- Experienced in working with a geographically separated (onshore + offshore) team
- Good working experience with Changeman, Intertest, Xpediter
- Experience working with Oracle
- Knowledge of JSON is a plus
