Job Summary
Supervise and train junior machinists on equipment operation and safety protocols while programing, setting up, and operating CNC machinery for complex part fabrication. Troubleshoot mechanical issues to minimize downtime, interpret blueprints and engineering drawings for accurate production, and implement quality control procedures for all components. Collaborate with engineering and production teams to optimize manufacturing processes and manage material inventory and necessary supplies. This role requires 5+ years of experience with CNC machines and strong leadership skills. The Pivot Group Network partners with manufacturers across Battle Creek seeking skilled professionals for intentional, fit-driven placements.
Required Qualifications
- 5+ years of experience as a machinist in a manufacturing environment
- Proven ability to program, set up, and operate various CNC machines (mills, lathes, etc.)
- Strong understanding of G-code, M-code, and CAD/CAM software
- Demonstrated leadership experience, including training and mentoring junior machinists
- Excellent problem-solving skills with a focus on precision and quality control
- Ability to interpret complex engineering blueprints and technical drawings
Desired Qualifications
- Experience with CAD/CAM software for programming CNC machines
- Familiarity with various metal alloys and their machining properties
- Lean manufacturing or Six Sigma certification
- Ability to interpret and create engineering drawings and schematics
