Job Summary
Lead Machinist responsible for 5-axis programming and operation of precision parts. Responsibilities include reviewing engineer drawings for manufacturability, programming toolpaths in CAM, setting up and running 5-axis jobs, maintaining tool and workholding libraries, performing maintenance and calibration of machine tools, programming and operating CMM inspection with results communicated to engineers, and supervising other CNC operators. The role emphasizes hands-on machining of varied prototypes and short production runs, with exposure to Mitutoyo metrology software, Solidworks/Fusion CAD, and live tooling experiences. The position is based in El Segundo, CA, onsite with the production team.
Required Qualifications
- 5 years minimum of 5 axis programming and operating experience
- Intimate knowledge of G-Code, ability to hand write / edit programs on the fly
- Up to date knowledge of contemporary machining strategies and available tooling
- CMM programming and operating Mitutoyo suite or Polyworks
- Parametric CAD competency Solidworks or Fusion
