Job Summary
Lead Locate Technician to mentor and guide Locate Technicians, escalate technical/operational issues, and ensure accurate marking of underground utilities (gas, water, sewer, electric, fiber). Responsibilities include managing field operations flow, scheduling support, analyzing metrics, and supporting after-hours needs; required skills include maps/SLD/FB data expertise, troubleshooting complex locate issues, and strong communication with excavation crews, clients, and internal teams. Emphasis on safety, professionalism, and continuous improvement in damage-prevention services. Qualifications include a high school diploma or GED, 2–3 years in utility locating, leadership/mentoring experience preferred, and a valid driver's license; OSHA familiarity is a plus.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED required.
- Minimum 2–3 years of experience in utility locating.
- Prior experience in a lead or mentoring role preferred.
- Strong knowledge of underground utility systems and locating equipment.
- Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.
- Ability to work independently and in varied outdoor conditions.
- Proficient in reading maps, blueprints, and using mobile field technology.
- Strong communication, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
