Job Summary
Lead Locate Technician role focusing on supervising locate technicians, organizing tasks, and ensuring precise identification of underground utilities. Responsibilities include project management, mentoring team members, enforcing safety standards, quality assurance, conducting damage investigations and field safety audits, ride-alongs with crew, and managing tickets, vehicles, equipment, and supplies. The position emphasizes team leadership, recruitment to the team, fostering a positive safety culture, strengthening customer interactions, and maintaining compliance with SOP directives. Requires strong communication, safety awareness, technical aptitude with locating equipment, and the ability to interact with customers, contractors, utility representatives, and others under direction.
Required Qualifications
- Must be at least eighteen years of age.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Clean background check for access to restricted and/or controlled areas.
- Valid driver license with acceptable driving record.
- Ability to pass random drug screens and to remain drug free.
- Computer literate.
- Ability to locate.
- Ability to effectively perform a PDR or damage investigation.
- Ability to interact with all involved, the public, customers, contractors, utility representatives and all those under their direction.
- Excellent communication skills at all levels.
