Job Summary
Manage, mentor, and inspire a team of lighting artists while driving quality, productivity, and professional growth. Partner with Art Directors and department leads to establish visual style and quality standards, then develop efficient workflows and resolve technical roadblocks. Collaborate with the Core Tech Team to ensure runtime optimizations are met for real-time rendering engines and work with production to define timelines and track progress. Maintain alignment with strategic goals while leading a dedicated group to craft visually stunning real-time lighting that supports immersive storytelling.
Required Qualifications
- 7+ years of experience in real-time lighting and final rendering
- Track record of serving as a Lead Artist on at least one shipped AAA title
- In-depth practical knowledge of Unreal Engine 5
- In-depth practical knowledge of Lumen lighting tools
- In-depth practical knowledge of UE Sequencer
- In-depth practical knowledge of Physically Based Rendering (PBR)
- Demonstrated experience lighting for in-game cinematics
- Experience optimizing high-quality lighting within runtime performance constraints
- Proven track record of successfully managing, recruiting, mentoring, and retaining top-tier artistic talent
