Job Summary
Monitor staff behavior and lifeguard skills, supervise emergency situations to ensure proper protocol application, and patrol the active natatorium while engaging with members and students. Coordinate staff breaks and meals, report sanitation and maintenance issues, and assist with training administration and staff meetings. Ensure daily task completion and safety compliance throughout shifts. Requires current Red Cross lifeguarding, CPR/AED, and First Aid certifications plus six months of aquatic programming experience. Starting pay is $17.82/hr.
Required Qualifications
- At least 18 years of age
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Current certifications in American Red Cross Lifeguarding
- Current certifications in CPR/AED
- Current certifications in First Aid
- Current certifications in Bloodborne Pathogens
- Current certifications in Administering Emergency Oxygen
- Completion of YMCA program-specific trainings upon hire
- Six months of related experience in aquatic programming
- Knowledge of providing customer and personal services to members
- Knowledge of Microsoft Office
- Ability to lift and/or move up to ten pounds
- Close and distance vision
