Job Summary
Coordinate preparations of legal documents and correspondence filing pleadings with the Workers Compensation Appeals Board. Receive, transcribe, and track legal dictation for status reports, conference summaries, and settlement disbursements. Compose routine letters and memoranda, proofread materials for accuracy, and maintain files and logs under assigned attorneys. Prepare pre-trial statements, settlement documents, and trial exhibits for hearings and depositions. Manage daily mail, telephone calls, emails, and delegate tasks to team members while training others in required practices. Track tasks and settlement fees, ensuring effective relations with industrially injured persons. Operate standard office equipment and utilize Microsoft Office, Adobe Acrobat, and case management systems.
Required Qualifications
- Familiarity with law, legal procedures and protocols, and Worker's Compensation court system
- Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite, Adobe Acrobat and SharePoint or Merus Case
- Skilled typing ability (minimum 75WPM) as well as strong writing, proofreading, spelling, and grammar skills
