Job Summary
Lead Legal Assistant in the Florida Department of Revenue’s Child Support Program (Pensacola) supports the Legal Services Unit as a team member and potential leader. Responsibilities include monitoring performance to ensure procedural compliance, serving as the subject matter expert on complex and escalated projects, assisting the supervisor in training and coaching legal assistants, and aiding the unit in processing referrals to meet workload goals and ensure timely case progression. Requires experience in legal environments, coaching or mentoring others, strong communication, and research/analysis abilities. Position located in Pensacola with standard 8am–5pm workdays; must provide college transcript and may be subject to skills verification tests; National Level-2 background check and SSS/Veterans’ Preference considerations apply.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum requirements include: currently employed with the Florida Department of Revenue; legal service unit experience including providing legal assistance in office or court environment, reviewing/processing legal documents and communicating with case parties; one year of experience explaining complex policies; two years coaching/training others; one year of experience with effective communication; one year of experience researching and analyzing information; substitutions: relevant education may substitute for required experience.
