Job Summary
Lead Laborer to support construction projects in Northern/Central California. Responsibilities include communicating project performance to project managers, assisting under supervision of foreman/superintendent, reading construction plans, installing and maintaining stormwater BMPs (silt fence, fiber rolls, construction fence, jute net, hydroseeding, etc.), performing general labor (pipe/conduit installation, backfilling, soil compaction, sweeping, equipment spotting, traffic flagging), operating small equipment (forklifts, water trucks, dump trucks, mechanized trenchers, hydroseeders), ensuring safety plans and quality requirements are followed, interacting with clients and subcontractors, maintaining professionalism, resolving conflicts, and traveling to remote sites as needed. Minimum qualifications include 5+ years as a laborer with leadership potential, ability to lead a crew of 2-4, strong communication, teamwork, and a valid CA driver’s license. Benefits include comprehensive medical/dental/vision, 401(k), life and disability coverage, FSA, holidays, and vacation. Salary range is $30.00-$40.00 per hour. HAZWOPER training is preferred.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- 5+ years of verifiable Laborer Experience with increased responsibilities that demonstrate ability to be a crew lead and/or supervisory role
- Valid California Driver’s License with a clean driving record
- Ability to pass pre-employment and annual physicals, including alcohol/drug screening
- Experience operating various types of small equipment, trailers, and flatbed trucks and performing a variety of labor tasks preferred
- HAZWOPER 40-hour training preferred
