Job Summary
Communicate project performance daily with managers while tracking execution progress, quantities, and submittals. Install, maintain, or remove stormwater BMPs like silt fences and fiber rolls, and assist with general tasks including pipe installation, backfilling, and equipment operation. Safely operate small machinery such as forklifts and trenchers while ensuring compliance with safety plans and protocols. Manage a crew of two to four workers, resolve conflicts, and report to remote job sites requiring out-of-town stays. Requires five years of laborer experience, valid driver's license, and physical stamina for strenuous outdoor work.
Required Qualifications
- 5+ years of verifiable Laborer Experience, with increased responsibilities that demonstrate ability to be a crew lead and/or supervisory role
- Ability to safely and effectively manage a crew of 2 to 4 workers performing a variety of general construction activities
- Physical strength and stamina required to complete strenuous work for long shifts outdoors
- Sound decision-making and problem-solving skills
- Effective verbal communication and comprehension skills
- Ability to maintain detailed records and documentation
- Consistent professionalism and positivity
- Ability and willingness to work effectively in a team environment
- Valid California Driver's License with a clean driving record
- Ability to pass pre-employment and annual physicals, including alcohol/drug screening
- High school diploma or equivalent
- HAZWOPER 40-hour training preferred
- Experience operating various types of small equipment, trailers, and flatbed trucks and performing a variety of labor tasks preferred
