Job Summary
Lead Journeyman Heavy Equipment Technician at GFL Environmental in Grande Prairie, AB. Responsibilities include diagnosing and repairing complex CNG and diesel engines, electrical and hydraulic systems; performing preventive maintenance and safety inspections; completing documentation of parts usage and repair times; planning and scheduling work; mentoring apprentices through their program; maintaining tools and shop safety standards; and ensuring compliance with safety procedures. Required: Journeyman designation, valid driver’s license, and ability to provide own tools (Red Seal preferred but not required). Required Qualifications
- Journeyman designation
- Valid Driver’s License
- Provide own tools (and willingness to acquire tools as required)
- Red Seal is preferred but not required
- Experience with diagnosing and repairing diesel and CNG engines, electrical and hydraulic systems
- Ability to perform CVIP inspections and follow maintenance guidelines
- Knowledge of diagnostic software and ability to work with technical manuals
- Strong communication and mentoring abilities
- Ability to work in varied weather conditions and meet physical demands (lift 50+ pounds, etc.)
