Job Summary
Conduct janitorial services and oversee facilities at The Arc Jefferson – St. Lawrence, including restroom cleaning, trash removal, sweeping, wet mopping, dusting, vacuuming, and window cleaning. Provide supervision and training to assigned staff, monitor supply and equipment levels, and report needs to the Facilities Janitorial Supervisor. Maintain cleaning standards, operate high and low speed maintenance equipment and carpet extractors, and adhere to all agency policies, safety protocols, and compliance regulations. Travel to the Potsdam work site using an agency vehicle and maintain a valid NYS Driver's License. Perform duties Monday through Friday from 11:30am to 8:00pm, including holiday work as needed.
Required Qualifications
- Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs. without assistance.
- Must be capable of moving up and down stairs without difficulty.
- Must be capable of working on feet for extended periods of time.
- Must provide your own transportation to work.
- Must be willing to learn proper use of cleaning agents and usage of various supplies.
- Must be willing to learn proper maintenance and safety features of both light and heavy custodial equipment.
- Authorized to work in the United States.
- Maintain a valid NYS Driver's License and pass agency driving test.
- Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs. without assistance.
- Must be capable of moving up and down stairs without difficulty.

- Travel to the Potsdam work site to perform janitorial services using an agency vehicle will also be required.
Desired Qualifications
- At least 1-year supervisory experience preferred
- Experience in janitorial work preferred
