Job Summary
Lead iOS Software Engineer to design, build, and maintain high-quality iOS features powering Bumble BFF; own features end-to-end, from technical design through testing, release, and iteration; mentor junior engineers; collaborate with Product Managers and Designers to translate ideas into robust iOS implementations; contribute to evolving iOS architecture and standards; leverage AI-assisted development tools to improve productivity and code quality. The role requires strong Swift + UIKit expertise (with SwiftUI in production), experience designing scalable iOS architectures (MVVM, VIPER, TCA), solid concurrency and performance knowledge (async/await, GCD), API integration, App Store delivery, and a track record of delivering end-to-end iOS features. Location-based in Austin, TX or New York City with a hybrid in-office schedule (Mon-Wed). The role emphasizes mentorship, cross-functional collaboration, and contributing to engineering standards while using AI responsibly to augment development processes.
Required Qualifications
- 6+ years of professional experience building and shipping production iOS applications
- Strong proficiency in Swift with deep experience in UIKit; working knowledge of SwiftUI in production environments
- Proven experience designing and maintaining scalable iOS architectures (e.g. MVVM, TCA, VIPER, or similar) in large codebases
- Solid understanding of iOS concurrency and performance (async/await, GCD, memory management)
- Experience integrating and consuming networked APIs from iOS clients, including error handling and performance considerations
- Strong knowledge of iOS platform fundamentals (app lifecycle, view rendering, Auto Layout, accessibility, localization)
- Experience owning iOS features end-to-end, including technical design, implementation, testing, and App Store delivery
- 6+ years of professional experience building and shipping production iOS applications
- Lead experience or senior-level responsibilities
