Lead Inventory Specialist (Falcon) - 2nd Shift

Job Summary

Oversee daily shift backlogs and re-assign resources to meet demands while maintaining compliance to metric targets. Receive, store, and issue raw materials, parts, and hardware; perform picking functions to assemble necessary kits and ensure all items are accounted for. Monitor department consumables, shelf-life storage, and temperature-sensitive materials, maintaining strict handling practices and proper rotation. Act as the focal point for production coordinators, participate in team improvement meetings, and mentor employees to meet supervisor expectations. Fulfill resource gaps when shifts are short-handed and interface with Shipping, Receiving, Planning, Quality Control, and Purchasing to resolve distribution problems. Work Monday through Friday from 3pm to 1:30am, including overtime and weekends, supporting SpaceX's goal of enabling human life on Mars.

Required Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalency certificate
  • 1+ years of experience in a warehouse environment
  • 1+ years of experience working at SpaceX in materials management
  • Capability to operate a forklift and other related inventory equipment
  • Experience and understanding of inventory and kitting processes
  • Detail oriented, organized, and demonstrates a high sense of urgency
  • Ability to lift 25 lbs. unassisted
  • Lifting, standing, climbing, bending, grasping, sitting, pulling, pushing, stooping, stretching, and carrying
  • Willingness to work (Monday-Friday) 3pm-1:30am, overtime, and weekends
  • U.S. citizen or national
  • U.S. lawful, permanent resident (aka green card holder)
  • Refugee under 8 U.S.C. § 1157
  • Asylee under 8 U.S.C. § 1158
  • Eligible to obtain the required authorizations from the U.S. Department of State

Desired Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree
  • Experience within the aerospace, automotive, semiconductor, or electronic fields
  • Excellent computer skills including Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook)
  • ERP system experience (SAP, Oracle, etc.)
