Job Summary

Diagnose and repair complex electro-mechanical problems with manufacturing equipment, including electrical control circuits, PLC inputs/outputs, and pneumatic systems. Perform detailed setup on equipment, adjust controls based on Statistical Process Control data, and complete projects to add circuits or relocate machines. Maintain mechanical components in top operating condition, conduct preventative maintenance, and track spare parts usage to complete orders. Train all levels of technicians in complex tasks and supervise direct reports while entering work completed into the computer-based maintenance program. Adjust equipment settings and troubleshoot issues independently within a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

Required Qualifications

  • Associates degree in related field, or equivalent relative experience
  • 7-10 years' maintenance experience in a manufacturing environment
  • Knowledge of and experience with Lock-Out, Tag-Out procedures
  • Able to strictly adhere to safety policies/procedures and be committed to customer quality
  • Must be available for regular standby assignments; work scheduled off-hours and emergency overtime as required
  • Must be willing to attend training sessions as needed, including out of state locations
  • Ability to train all levels of Technicians
  • Intermediate knowledge of fabrication (ex. welding, basic machining)
  • Possess strong work ethic and knowledge of intermediate troubleshooting
  • Able to read printed materials, blueprints, schematics, and computer graphics
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to work independently and within a team, including the ability to establish and maintain cooperative working relationships employees, vendors, contractors, and suppliers
  • Ability to show attention to detail in a very fast paced environment
  • Must possess strength, stamina and mobility to perform heavy physical work with exposure to potentially hazardous conditions
  • Must be able to use varied hand and power tools
  • Must be able to drive a motor vehicle and/or light construction equipment
  • Must be able to operate fork trucks, platform lifts etc.
  • Must be able to lift and move materials and equipment weighing up to 90 pounds and heavier weights with the use of proper equipment
  • Must have close vision
  • Must have color vision
  • Must have peripheral vision
  • Must have depth perception
  • Must have the ability to adjust and focus
  • Must be at least 18 years of age to apply
  • Proficient in Word, Excel, and CMMS systems

Desired Qualifications

  • Advanced understanding of electrical principles such as voltage, current and resistance
  • Advanced understanding of electrical safety and motor control circuits and programmable drives
  • Ability to troubleshoot the inputs and outputs on PLC and repair issues
  • Ability to complete projects to add electrical circuits and controls, new equipment and relocate machines
  • Ability to maintain and repair pneumatic systems including repairs of cylinders and other components
  • Ability to perform simple to complex mechanical Preventative Maintenance Tasks following instructions
  • Ability to adjust equipment based on Statistical Process Control data
