Job Summary
Lead HVAC Plant Technician responsibilities include coordinating HVAC activities across all facilities, operating and maintaining utilities such as boilers, chillers, cooling towers, and air handlers, and troubleshooting minor issues or determining when contractors are required. Schedule internal and external repairs, acquire parts, generate work orders, and assign tasks to team members while ensuring compliance with safety regulations and building codes. Monitor building automation systems, respond to alerts, and maintain records of inspections and equipment performance. On-call rotation covers responding to alarms for BMS, fire, and security systems. This role supports the department's mission to deliver high-quality pharmaceutical products to patients worldwide through seamless facility operations.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED
- HVAC certification from a trade school
- Two-year associates degree
- Minimum of five years active HVAC experience or related fields
- At least two years in a lead role
- Ability to pass a HVAC competency test to include Electrical, Mechanical, Ventilation and Boiler questions
- Ability to motivate others
- Proficiency in HVAC systems, controls and tools
- Ability to read drawings and technical manuals
- Strong leadership and communication skills
- Problem-solving and decision-making under pressure
- Organizational skills for managing schedules and documentation
Desired Qualifications
- HVAC certification from a trade school preferred
- Two-year associates degree is preferred
