Lead Housekeeper

Job Summary
Lead Housekeeper oversees the day-to-day operation of the Environmental Services Department, trains and supervises all housekeepers, orders supplies, chemicals and equipment, assists with budget preparation and operating within budget guidelines, maintains excellent relations with residents, coordinates scheduling and annual apartment cleanings, conducts inventories, and supports infection-control policies. Requires supervisory experience in housekeeping within a retirement community, hotel, or healthcare setting, and a high school education or GED; strong communication skills and a hospitality mindset are essential.
Required Qualifications
- High school education required
- Special courses in housekeeping or institutional management are desirable
- Three to six months experience in housekeeping or janitorial position preferred
- Prior housekeeping supervisory experience in a retirement community, hotel or health care setting required
- Knowledge of housekeeping and infection control procedures required
- Good oral and written communications skills are essential
